The Automatic Color detection setting of the ScanSnap treats pages without color content as B & W, and shifts to a lower-resolution mode including color if a page has color content. I usually set these at 150 to 200 dpi and 75% image quality and find the results quite readable and with acceptable print quality.įor copy that’s primarily text, I usually use Black & White scanner settings. The default setting is a compromise between view/print quality and file size, 150 dpi and 50% image quality. (Perhaps one of these days Apple will optimize image layer production.)ĭTPO Preferences > OCR provides user-modifiable options to control the final resolution and image quality of ABBY-OCRd searchable PDFs. Because OS X rasterization isn’t as file-size efficient as Adobe’s, the resulting file size is larger for searchable PDFs produced by ABBYY. It is true that Acrobat uses its own proprietary code to produce the image layer of searchable PDFs, whereas ABBYY uses the code built into OS X. I’ve also tried ReadIRIS Pro 12, and find that ABBYY produces consistently more accurate results. Overall, I find the text recognition accuracy of ABBYY OCR better than that of Acrobat OCR, sometimes significantly better. I’ve run the same original PDFs through OCR with both Acrobat and DTPO’s ABBYY OCR. I’ve experimented with a variety of copy, including color content and a variety of fonts and font sizes. Most of my scans are done using a ScanSnap S500M. I have read various reports that this is intentional to prevent taking work away fromĪdobe’s more expensive products which are specifically geared for fully scripted activities. I have tried to Applescript the whole process, but Acrobat 8 Professional is not fully scriptable So, the batch process spits out files into a separate folder & I drag these processed files into DTPO. (Note that this is an Abbyy problem, not DTPO, but Devonthink don’t want to know about it.) Most importantly, bitmapped (1-bit black & white) images stay bitmapped & are usually less than 50kb/page at good quality, whereas DTPO changes these to greyscale, decreasing the image quality & increasing the file size. I then have a batch process in Acrobat 8 Professional than processes these by doing an OCR (Exact) then downsampling to a lower resolution at higher compression. I don’t have a way to do what you want exactly, but I have a workflow that uses my ScanSnap to scan into a temporary folder. They have repeatedly said in other forum threads that OCR to them is a “black hole”, ie, they pass the PDF to Abbyy & take whatever is spit out. Windows 7 Enterprise for the XI Standard users.Cameron, I agree with you. Server 2008 R2 for my version of X 10.1.16 Standard I checked the permissions of the document on their side and they have full permissions on the documents. Save as Tiff's, it exports each page as a tiff 100-600 pages per document! Then they combine these Tiff's, then they save as a PDF and Then they are able to convert to searchable text! Holy Crap, that is ridicoulse.especially when it should work as a convert 1st step like in my test!!! What is the cause of this? Otherwise this is what they have to do. But this is where it differs from my test, on mine it started to process the pages for OCR and hers does not. Selected OK through several pages of the same prompt, and on the last page it showed almost the same message except there was No check box to ignore these messages.obviously as it was the last page. So I logged onto one of their workstations and opened the document in XI Standard, Went to Tools, Recognize text, in this file, Got the prompt that Acrobat could not perform recognition (OCR) because page contains renderable text". The users with the issues all have XI or DC Standard. No I cannot send the file(Dr files) but it doesn't matter anyway cuz I'm able to convert with OCR on the file with my version of Acrobat X Standard.

Changseop asked the planner if they had any memorable issues when developing these Blast events and the planner replied that a lot of players criticized the fact that the test server Dungeon Blast had the Necro set in it which didn’t exist back then. They know that party role-playing was a core part of MapleStory’s MMORPG fun before but since they can’t really force players into specific roles in the current MapleStory, they implement it in events. They create these ‘Blast’ events to try and recreate the feel of old MapleStory, even a little bit. They were looking at bringing the event as-is but it didn’t fit with the play experience they intended, and they also thought the concept matched the current Minar Forest event aesthetic so they reworked it. A lot players ask for overseas content and events to come to KMS which they reviewed internally. This event was created by reusing overseas assets (the Abyss Expedition). When talking about the Forest Blast event, he brought the planner in charge of it out (in the form of a Slime plushie). The average expected values are similar so you can do whichever you like. The Halfling Treasure Hunt event lets players choose between getting a guaranteed number of rewards or take a chance of getting more or less rewards. However, in the Identisk event, most players had a lot of Sunshine Coins left over so this time, they added more items to the coin shops for players to spend their coins on. They changed this during Identisk to make it easier for all players to access the rewards, and have structured this year’s Chuseok event in a similar way. Previous coin shop rewards were implemented in a system that made them more useful for players that knew what to buy and coin capped on multiple characters. They have added a new event ring (Abyss Hunter’s Ring) that gives 20% damage to normal monsters to help players hunt more easily. The developers will make updates to each world as needed and he asked users to stop fighting with each other. He replied that they’re not ignoring them, but as he said previously, Sol Erda Fragments are a material that differentiates the experience between worlds, which will be maintained. People in the chat asked if they were ignoring Reboot World. However, Sol Erda Fragments are materials that have a great impact on the market economy so they will not be adding them as event rewards any time soon. They will gradually give out more Sol Erda, in addition to those from hunting and bosses. The final reward from this event includes Sol Erda. The event rewards are focused on supplementing the enhanced growth speed from 200 to 260 (including a Tera Burning Booster). They have lowered the participation requirements for this event (defeating 1000 monsters within your level range for 5 days of the week).People in the chat asked him if he was gonna do a mukbang and he said he couldn’t match up to the talents of the last director.(Since it’s the first time though, they’re anonymous and are represented by various MapleStory plushies!) He wants players to understand and get to know the people working on the game and gain more trust in them. In addition, something new he wants to try in MapleStory NOW is that it won’t just be him talking but also other members of the MapleStory team. These streams will be centered around the current content and intentions of this update. He named the stream MapleStory NOW because rather than talking about the future like in the Vision Talks, he wants to talk about the game right now.And then he told everyone to drink their wealth/experience potions. As the director, he wants to honestly share stories about the game and would be grateful if players listen to the stream with a relaxed mindset. They essentially connect your life's passion, ambition, and purpose. Goals you wish to complete throughout your lifetime are called Lifetime Goals. Broader scope and more effort are generally required to carry them out. Long-Term Goals are something you desire to attain in the future, but for that, you need to work towards them now. Your ability to make plans for the future year and take action to accomplish your dreams is assisted by these goals. The varieties of goals you create for the near or immediate future are referred to as Short-Term Goals. Types Of Goals To Get Your Life Moving In The Right Direction Don't follow the crowd, and don't copy your friends' plans for the sake of familiarity or comfort. Everyone should choose a personal goal that will continuously inspire them to strive for greater heights. The ideal goal might therefore be to lead a happy life so that you can make a positive contribution to the world and also promises good future potential at the same time. An individual's life will be out of alignment if they do not choose their goals with the right mindset. Undoubtedly, the most difficult challenge a young man or woman has is choosing a unique job that not only suits the financial requirements but also gives the satisfaction of doing something one wants. In that case, choosing our purpose requires exercising tremendous prudence. The main objective of having an aim, therefore, means a good life, while the wrong goal equals a bad one. Kids should be motivated to choose and aim wisely so that they leave a satisfactory and meaningful life rather than being engaged in a rat race. How to Choose Aim In Lifeįamilies and teachers should encourage kids to choose a profession that suits their skills. By following your passion, you might achieve your mission. One should always give priority to what they like, what they would enjoy to work and will they be able to learn the right skills for it. That's the point one needs to be very careful about what they choose to be in their life, as there are many factors that play a role that influences the course of action of an individual. Some people are meant to help the less fortunate others are supposed to study art and design, and yet many are meant to write their way through the world and become authors. While someone might want to be photographer, one might be a great performer in statistics at college. You aren't pursuing your objectives and passions.Įveryone here is unique in some way. If you try to implement tasks that aren't intended towards your goal and it doesn't allow you to feel engaged, don't make you feel inner peace and satisfaction, you're not even in the appropriate sector. Long-term, your objective should be to enhance people's happiness levels or encourage others to embrace their passion. By understanding what that meant to you, you might accomplish this with ease. Hence, the aim of being is to make your life meaningful. As a result, everyone needs to stay focused on their objectives. A person without achievement in mind, similarly, cannot achieve it. A ship without a pilot is, therefore, defenseless. A person without the need for a destination is comparable to a ship without a compass and a pilot. I am conscious of the implications of my life's work. Therefore, in order to achieve it, one must overcome many obstacles and defeats. Every goal often starts with a declaration of the target, which is then divided into smaller pieces over a specified period of time. The verb "to aim" denotes intent, effort, or aspiration. A young person might want to become a well-known astronaut, movie star, security guard, or something similar. The word "aim" generally refers to a purpose or goal. Therefore, everyone needs to have a life goal. To live a successful life and overcome and deal with challenges, we need a well-thought-out strategic plan. Without knowing what you want, it will never inspire you to work diligently. People who appear to have a pretty good sense of what they want out of their lives prove to be more effective than those who don't. During your time as a student, planning ahead and setting your goals is a smart move and a sensible choice. If you want to achieve something during your lifetime, you must also have a purpose. We all have a sense that has been given to us. Even if the human being has one of the greatest gifts from the god of thinking and analyzing things, it is worthless without an objective or purpose. Thus, one would have unique goals in life than other individuals. Everyone has a specific line of thinking. Since humans are the most intelligent species, they have a choice to choose what they desire to do with their life. Each organism in the world has a particular set of goals and objectives. It's pretty apparent that a person without a purpose in life truly is lifeless. The nearly flawless first side closes with “Sunburst,” a minor classic, before getting into a more flawed second half. The singer wakes up in the middle of the night, hums a song from 1962, and thinks about his past, ending on “Ain’t it funny how you remember?” Indeed, it’s funny, not to mention tragic, to hold onto the memory of desperate teenage fucking as a high point in your life. Then comes a bridge that, despite being ridiculously cut from the radio edit, gives the song its meaning. “I used her, she used me/But neither one cared/We were getting our share,” he sings, making the relationship sound painful. It details Seger’s fling with a girl in his teenage years. “Night Moves” remains the best song Seger has ever written, demonstrating tremendous self-awareness about the same nostalgia that made “Old Time Rock and Roll” so unbearable. “ The Fire Down Below” initially seems like a same-old take on prostitution, but by giving the women names while keeping the men nameless, he manages to craft a song about exploitation and abuse that’s unique in its empathy. It’s no less traditional than the records Seger would release later, but it handles its subjects well. The same girl whose life was saved by rock and roll is now “a little bit older, a lot less bolder than you used to be.” But, as the title says, the music never forgets. It shifts the perspective to third-person, seemingly bringing The Velvet Underground’s “Rock and Roll” a few decades into the future. Night Moves came two years before Stranger in Town, which featured Seger’s signature song “ Old Time Rock and Roll.” For years, I avoided acknowledging Seger as a great artist because of that song, along with the Chevrolet-ad favorite “ Like a Rock.” “Old Time Rock and Roll” is a smug, conservative love letter to an earlier time that manages to weave anti-disco sentiments and “American Pie”-esque hypocrisy into the mix.Įven worse, the song is irrelevant, since Night Moves opened with “ Rock and Roll Never Forgets,” a song that essentially has the same message, but delivered in a better, less self-important tone. But today is the 40th anniversary of Seger’s 1976 release Night Moves, an album that was somehow both his best album and the beginning of his artistic downfall. Indeed, Seger’s early work is essential, and if you haven’t heard songs like the top 20 hit “ Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” and the anti-war masterpiece “ 2 + 2 = ?” (the latter an influence on Seger fan Jack White’s “Seven Nation Army” riff), you should get on that. On his 2010 Pazz & Jop ballot, music critic Chuck Eddy named the fan-made compilation Never Mind the Bullets, Here’s Early Bob Seger as his favorite album of the year. To this day, critics continue to hold Seger’s early work in high regard. Seger’s early work was a critical success, largely due to the Detroit-based Creem Magazine. And beyond the obvious stuff, Michigan also gave us smaller local hits like Gino Washington’s “ Gino is a Coward,” one of the best and most underrated songs of the 1960s.īob Seger is a difficult artist to define, at least if you know the full story, but he falls somewhere in between all of those artists: a local success in Detroit who slowly built a national audience over the course a decade before blowing up, and who ultimately became defined by his weakest hits. Obviously, there’s Motown, but also Funkadelic, early punk acts MC5 and The Stooges, and major modern artists like Eminem and The White Stripes. Once my interest in music got to the point where I began researching heavily, I began to discover Michigan’s importance in musical history. Personally, I lived in the Upper Peninsula for 11 years, rarely seeing concerts and feeling isolated from music and art. Growing up a small area of Michigan, it’s easy to feel like you’re cut off from culture. This focus on angles in the unit circle is also applied to the coordinate plane when angles in different quadrants are examined.Īs may now be apparent, many students find themselves very apprehensive about taking, and keeping up with, a Trigonometry course. Complementary, supplementary, and coterminal angles are all discussed. Trigonometry also teaches students about the unit circles and radians, focusing on how to convert degrees into radians and vice versa. Students learn to determine angles and side lengths in 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 right triangles using the law of sines and the law of cosines, as well as how to identify similar triangles and determine proportions using proportionality. Students also learn to work with identities with angle sums, complementary and supplementary identities, pythagorean identities, and basic and definitional identities.Īnother major part of Trigonometry is learning to analyze specific kinds of special triangles. Trigonometric identities are also discussed in Trigonometry classes students learn about the sum and product identities, as well as identities of inverse operations, squared trigonometric functions, halved angles, and doubled angles. Trigonometric operations are also discussed, and students also learn about trigonometric equations, including how to understand, set up, and factor trig equations, how to solve individual trigonometric equations, as well as systems of trigonometric equations, how to find trig roots, and how to use the quadratic formula on trigonometric equations. Trigonometry in particular investigates trigonometric functions, and in the process teaches students how to graph sine, cosine, secant, cosecant, tangent, cotangent, arcsin, arccos, and arctan functions, as well as how to perform phase shifts and calculate their periods and amplitudes. Like Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Algebra II classes, Trigonometry classes focus on functions and graphs. Information students learn in Trigonometry helps them succeed in later higher-level mathematics courses, as well as in science courses like Physics, where trigonometric functions are used to model certain physical phenomena. Students typically take Trigonometry after completing previous coursework in Algebra and Geometry, but before taking Pre-Calculus and Calculus. Let's make quick and easy turkey meatballs in the Instant Pot. You don't need much but boy are these meatballs super flavorful! How to make Instant Pot meatballs Other ingredients you will need are: Parmesan cheese, non-dairy milk or regular milk, herbs, salt and pepper, eggs, onion, and garlic. Panko bread crumbs: Feel free to swap with a gluten free breadcrumb to keep this recipe gluten free! Vodka sauce would also be delicious or arrabbiata if you are not serving to kids (it's a bit spicy!) Pasta sauce: I highly recommend using a high quality marinara sauce which is what I did here. You could alternatively use ground pork or beef of a similar fat content. Ground turkey: I used 90/10 ground turkey. However, the inclusion of the egg and egg yolk, parmesan cheese, and splash of milk really made for a meatball that is anything but dry. Usually, ground turkey can lend itself to creating really dull and dry dishes. We were all so pleasantly surprised by how incredibly moist these meatballs turned out. There isn't much prep and chopping that needs to be done besides an onion, and there is SO much flavor which is shocking because I'm not utilizing any fresh herbs or anything. You can feel free to utilize your favorite pasta sauce, but I love using a really wonderful marinara sauce, vodka sauce, or arrabbiata (a bit spicy, so not a great option if serving to kids.) I'm all for being able to throw together a main dish in the Instant Pot and have it ready in just 7 minutes, aren't you?
